I'm Back Baby!

Or, at least...closer than I've been in a while.
I am feeling SOOOO much better. I can actually eat healthy foods now and it not make me sick to think of (with some exceptions. Brown rice, I loathe your smell with every part of me)

It feels so good to be eating well again. I feel so much better (duh) and am just so happy I can nourish my baby and my body again. I had a few week period where I was not doing so hot and I wish more than anything I didn't have that period, but you know what? You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. I am so hard on myself and expect perfection, because I am God's and He's perfect so it just makes sense that I should do the very best, all the time.
But it's a process, and I'm learning. So here's to more grace on myself.
And looky here now, that yuck part is over and I'm back to healthier, happier self!
Just...a much more tired version of her:)

These overnight oats are delicious and a great way to get some raw food into your diet!
Oats, plain organic yogurt, milk, honey, vanilla extract, blueberries, and chia seeds. Let it sit overnight in your fridge and it's ready and waiting for ya in the mornings. Delicious paired with a hot tea or coffee, or you can heat it up a bit to take the chill out.

I am actually meal-planning, and organizing and thinking ahead more than "get through this hour..." and that's so exciting to me!

Other exciting news:
I ran 1 mile the other day! Mostly downhill, but who's counting? It felt AMAZING. Just have to get myself out there and I can do it.

We got to meet and see our baby! Had our first ultrasound (we're doing a homebirth with a midwife, but my OB/GYN has actually become a friend of ours since I cut his hair and he did an ultrasound for us. Love that man) Anyway...it was the cutest little baby I've ever seen in my life. Moving it's legs for us already...at 11 weeks. I love you, Baby Kiehn.
Oh the heartbeat was in the 160's. Ruby's was in the 180's. This is so totally a boy.

Yeah preggers!! So glad you are feeling better. Hopefully it stays that way!! How EXCITING about the ultrasound! Nothing better than seeing them like that. It's so neat!! Haha, boy!! All 3 of my pregnancies were totally different and they were all the same sex.

Oh, and when do you find out what it is?! Please tell me he'll give you the hookup and let you come in early??

I read recently that a truer interpretation of the verse we often here is, "be tender, just as my Father in heaven is tender" (Abba's Child, Brennan Manning). What freedom that gives my spirit! Attaining perfection is simply riding a distracting hamster wheel. Let's live in Freedom and Grace!

And I've felt like you're going to have another girl since you told me you were pregnant. Are you guys hoping for a boy?

I am so excited that you are choosing to do a home birth! God totally made our bodies to birth babies! :) You may already know this, but I just wanted to recommend chiropractic care if you don't already have it. It is 100% safe during pregnancy and actually has a lot of advantages (eliminate low back pain, keeping your pelvis in line - which is great for labor -, can even help turn a baby if needed when the time comes, etc.) You can totally tell me to butt out if you like haha! I had chiropractic care from day 1 and I really believe it helped my pregnancy and labor. On that note, it is amazing for your whole family, kids and all. Sadie gets adjusted all the time. They can even help baby's with colic, constipation, and much more. Sorry, I am married to chiropractor....so you could say I am a believer! haha Like I said, you may already know all of this and you didn't ask my advice :) but I did have a successful natural birth ;) I wish you the best of luck and can't wait to hear all about it when the time comes!
