Recent Ruby Recap

-Ruby has weaned! I can't believe it! I am so, so proud of her.
She had a little bit of a rough time with it at first, but since it was really just a comfort/cuddle thing and not a sustenance thing, she was okay to let go of it. She is super cuddly in place of it though and I love it.  Now we rock her for a few minutes to go to bed and she either falls asleep fast in our arms, or asks to be laid down in her crib so she can fall asleep for the last part on her own.
Such a big girl.

-She is also talking A LOT. Lots of real words. Lots of jibberish. She will repeat anything right now, so we are being very careful around here! Even words we used to spell out around her, she knows what they are. We'll spell it to each other and she just says it. We're like "what?! HOW?!"

-She has started telling littler kids at church "no no" like a Mommy. She gets it from saying "no no" to Clarence all the time as he takes her food or licks her face. Hopefully we'll be able to teach her you can talk like that to a dog but not a human...

-She loves boys. Males. When she was just new to walking, we'd find her in the boy's bathroom at church (we have a small church and the door stays open if no one is in there) and her two favorite people on earth are Ew and Papa (Kevin's little brother Justin and Kevin's Dad) She calls him "Ew" because from the very beginning when he'd play with her they would find stinky things and say ew ew to everything like her feet or whatever, and it just stuck.
We will over hear Ruby talking to herself just saying "ew. Papa. Papa ew. Ew and da Papa". She loves them.
The other day I was reading Humpty Dumpty to her. I said
"Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again"

and she looked up at me and said "men?"
Hahahahaha.
She is constantly surrounded by a group of about 6 boys at church that hold her and play with her and love her right back. It's so sweet and she loves every minute of it.
No, I am not concerned, and I doubt she is "boy crazy". She's just a cute toddler that is fascinated by the opposite sex:)

-We are getting her a toddler bed soon and I am so excited about it. I can't believe it!
Up next: potty training! But no rush, really.

Ruby, keep keepin' us young, baby girl!

Go ruby, go ruby...you're a big girl!! I am convinced that when the time is right, it's not a struggle. Or mild struggle. Well, that's how it was for potty training and no more paci with Miller, anyway.

I love that story of how they got to calling him ew. That is so precious. Don't you love stuff like that?!

And no, she's totally not boy crazy. She is just awesome!

And seriously with that picture?? How do you get shots like that?!
