Fresh Produce Tips

Today at the Farmer's Market I learned a cool little tip. Your parsley will stay fresh longer if you store it in the fridge with a little bit of water at the bottom for the tips, like in the picture.

And see that newspaper? The farmer told me for fresh basil, too warm is bad, and too cold is bad. So to keep it as fresh as possible, keep it in the refrigerator wrapped in newspaper! Isn't that wonderful?

Also, you may already know this, but another helpful hint is to:
store veggies and fruits in your home the way they are stored in the grocery store. If asparagus is in a bunch standing up...stand it up when you put it in the fridge. Notice how tomatoes and avacados aren't refrigerated? They don't need to be when you bring it home. You'll get more flavor and color if you store your produce the right way.

Hopefully this has changed your world and you'll never be the same again...

see, this is why you're skinny...you eat fruits and vegetables. Can you do a post on how to store cheeseburgers and little debbie's to optimize full flavor?
