Family Time

This past week we got a call and found out that Kevin's 79 year old grandpa in Illinois had fallen and was in the hospital. A few days later, he passed away. Very sad and very sudden, but surprisingly, everyone had a peace about it. We kinda looked to Dad (Ken, Kevin's dad) and since he had a peace, we all had a peace. It was his father. Kevin's last grandpa alive. Very sad, but part of life just as much as birth is.

The trip to Illinois for the funeral actually ended up being a blessing. When else can all of the family drop everything and be together 24/7 for several days?
We stayed at an aunt's house and one of the mornings before the wake we all went out on a family run.

And this is how the whole trip went...so much attention and loving on Ruby. She was in heaven.
And we all love that little spunky sweetheart.

Excited to run!

Aaaand we're off. Some of us went many miles. Some of us did not. I'm in the latter group...

Kevin, we are sorry for your loss. That's so awesome about his dad setting the example for everyone. I'm sure he was a great man.

I loved the family run pics. It's so cool that EVERYONE in the family is healthy like that. The only time my family is running is when it's from the law. I'm serious. Not my brothers or anything of course, but I have a cousin named Stevie. He changed his name to Petey so the cops wouldn't find him.

Busting up at your high side kick!!
