Being A Girl Is Rough Sometimes

I've been thinking a lot lately. My au naturale ways tend to equal ugliness and that kind of sucks. I mean, I hate make-up because it is literally painting your face with only the Lord-knows-what. We've all heard that mascara is made with bat feces and that's just the tip of the iceburg. Do you know how they get that smooth, velvet-y texture on your skin for foundations? From the plant that collects roadkill, yes, dead animals and puts them all in a big vat and boils them. The substance that floats to the top (oils and fats from the animals) is scraped off and used in TONS of beauty products. Disgusting, isn't it?

Still, I can't help but shamefully admit that this:

Looks better than this:

So what's a girl to do? Stand for what I believe in and be a clog-wearing, turleneck sporting, pale Simpleton? Or completely hypocrite myself and look good?

I already know the answer (balance, Jessica, balance) but still...I want to hear from you:)

Well thanks a friggin lot Jessica. Now I'm going to think about all those things as I put them on my face. hahahaha Well, I will probably still wear my make-up but your convictions are your convictions. You follow what you feel is right. I'm sure you can probably find some products out there made naturally. Even if they are more expensive, I tend to not really wear make-up unless it's a Sunday. Or we are going out somewhere and I feel like looking like someone didn't just wipe snot on me. lol

Wear mineral makeup, it's more natural and since they aren't liquids they won't have fats and oils. They have mineral makeup for foundation, eye shadows, and even mascara. If you need some cheap options, go to EyesLipsFace.com and you'll be able to look up the ingredients. That way if you're unfamilar to you, you can always research them before you buy. I hope this helps. Laura

Arbonne makeup is your answer! this company is amazing and their products are all natural no animal feces or road kill ( I have heard those horror stories too!)

I have used their products and you can really feel the difference-the makeup has a way lighter feel-Its def. more expensive than what you get in the store but it lasts a long time and is well worth it to know you are not wearing nasty stuff on your face.

Well, I think you know what I am going to say...always choose the path that makes you the prettiest! Hahaha, just kidding. But it is true about mineral makeup and Arbonne. You remember my client, Angela. She used the whole animal fat thing in her pitch when she tried to sell us Arbonne. It really is good stuff.

PS-You don't have to "shamefully admit" you like the way you look in the first pic. It's natural to want to look nice!!!

You're gorgeous, darlin'.....from the inside out! And you're right...balance is the key....in all things in life.

Aaaauugghhhh, welcome to my life. My compromise is to wear a little bit of eye makeup and some tinted lotion. And if I can get a tan, so much the better. But then the same problem comes up with clothes... I want comfy, sturdy, classy stuff, but not having any money sure does make that tricky.

However, I think that a smile and a good attitude make a huge difference in how you look. Pictures may not turn out great, but in person, happy people look pretty whether or not they're wearing makeup.

Okay I completely understand. Like other ladies have said, you can research. Yes, Arbonne is good, Mary Kay has mineral based make up as well (love it!), and lastly I'm sure Walmart offers options as well...but then you are looking for price there and not always quality.
It's a give and take; one that you need to feel comfortable with. I alway joke that ignorance is bliss, because if I didn't know what I was using was bad then I wouldn't feel bad for using it.
(and just saying you look gorgeous either way, but I'm sure you're like me and enjoy looking and feeling good with make up on!)
