So what do you think?...

My sweet Nanny got me a wipes warmer for Ruby and I am a little torn. I love the idea and I love that it will be so much more comfortable for Ruby

BUT

I don't want her to get used to knowing "Oh, wipes are warm and great" at home, and then when we take her anywhere else and change her diaper, it's a shocking, cold, wet, miserable surprise!

So, keep the warmer and risk that?
Or trade it out for, of course, diapers and other needed things, and she can just know from the start that wipes are cold?

{p.s. I would like to say Thank You Nanny, for the gift of course! This doesn't mean I don't love it! I am just trying to be practical here! :) }

I love the idea of these warmers- what a treat! A nice warm wipe on your tooshie...aahhh...
I almost got one for Rox, but honestly, I doubt she would notice. Some babies are very particular about things, like the temp of the bath water, etc. Roxie just isnt. She doesnt really care, so I have never bothered. And you have a good point - you wont be toting a warmer with you wherever you go. I think these are lovely and decadent, but I doubt Ruby would miss it too much.

That's exactly why I never used one either. I didn't want him getting used to it and then freak out in public. That's why I never got him a coat or blanket for that matter. Kids these days are spoiled.

Just kidding! But my vote: ditch the warmer, keep the Nanny.

PS-Love the blog colors...oh la la.

Hmmm. Dylan LOVED his wipe warmer...We never had an issue when going from home (with the nice warm wipes) to changing him out in town. I have to say though, when he was first born, he'd scream bloody murder at the cold. (He was very picky about non-cold stuff touching his bum/sore peepee from his circumcision) I seriously LOVE my wipes warmer, and plan on using it again with this baby...or going out and buying another one! (If that picture is the prince lionheart brand, that's what we have. its great!)

*it isn't a necessity, but i love it just the same!*

LOVE the updated blog!!!!
But onto the important question. I have a wipe warmer and I just never used it. So I find it to be nice, but not practical. If I were you I would take it back and get something else that is more of a necessity to you.
Just my thoughts. ;)

I remember going through this book on how to save money on baby products and this was one of the things we decided to do without because it is not necessary, but this book had also commented on the heat drying some of the wipes out, so you could go through more as well as taking up electrcity to heat them as well as not being able to use it on the go. I remember (and mind you this was four years ago when I read this), but some of the models actually over time damaged/discolored the furniture they rested on due to the heat. However, if you want it...go for it, but there are a ton of other useful things you could return it and spend the money on.
